Fish are going belly-up, and it’s raining dead birds (in Arkansas, Louisiana and even Italy, oh my!). We can’t help but ask, “should we worry?”* Well, if it is the end of the world, we better try and go out with a bang. Here at Loopt, we thought we could make this a bit more fun. Here’s the deal:

Starting today, Jan. 10 (through next Monday, Jan. 17)**, Check In at your favorite bar or restaurant on Loopt with hashtag #aFLOCKalypse (and push it to Twitter), and get all your friends to do it too.

Whatever place gets the most #aFLOCKalypse Check Ins will get a Loopt-sponsored aFLOCKalypse party with food, drinks (if they have ‘em) and some cool prizes (Angry Birds plush toys and downloads, anyone?). The party rally crew (who checked in to make it happen) will also get a special shout out. We’ll contact the venue owners, and work the whole thing out. So, if you like free food as much as we do, you’ll want to get on top of this.

*Loopt doesn’t officially hold “end of the world” or “December 2012″ beliefs… we’re just tryin’ to have some fun. We waited about a week, so it’s almost certainly not “too soon.”
