Loopt Qs: Be an Insider Wherever you Go
When Al Gore first invented the internets, the world was a simpler place: A white website with a bunch of blue links, a big fat computer sitting on your desk with a big fat monitor (and perhaps, Slater and Zack bickering in the background on your TV over Kelly).
But that’s not how most of us access the internet anymore—we’re out and about and on our phones. And yet, a lot of the content you access on your phone was designed for that simpler world…the one where you’re casually surfing the web from the comfort of your home. It’s lengthy, overwhelming, and there’s nothing real-time about it—it’s just not designed for your phone.
So we set out to create a way to help you get the local information you actually want when you’re on the go. Because think about it: most people aren’t really standing on the corner looking for the best new Japanese restaurant in town…they’re sitting in a restaurant, watching the Sushi boats float by, holding the menu and scratching their head over what to order. The reality is: in a city like San Francisco, most places are worth going to. It’s what you do when you get there – that’s the information you need.
That’s why we created Qs, a fun, really social way to get bite-sized insider info and share your own opinions about a local place. Now, with Loopt, you can uncover and share local insights about the places around you, giving you the inside scoop about what people are doing at the places nearby—right now in real time—exposing a radar of activity around you.
Loopt Qs will be launching very soon – if you download the latest version of Loopt now, you’ll get an update notice when it’s ready to roll. At first, it will only be available in the San Francisco Bay Area, but our community teams will be trolling out to other cities shortly. Can’t wait for it to come to your city? Let us know where we should go next on Facebook and Twitter!
