In case you haven’t heard yet, Loopt’s new feature, Qs, is now live in a big way in Chicago (and other cities, too). This is big news for our town – why? Loopt is now the complete package for any Chicagoan – a social mapping app that focuses on discovering and sharing insider information around town.

Finally, a social app that can help you find secret menu items, track nightlife parties, where you’re friends are going, as well as share massive deals or your two cents on your experiences.

Hi! My name is Lisa Frame and I’m Loopt Chicago’s first Community Manager! I heart all things coffee, bacon, digital, whiskey, dance-y and brunch. Basically, anything that’s delicious, novelty, gets me buzzed and or up-and-coming.

What I discovered Last Week: a touring NAIL ARTIST.

Yep, who said Food Trucks were the only badasses touring around town? Astro Wifey is picking up the game by being one of the most non-traditional manicurists in Chicago. You wont find her at your local fru-fru salon, instead she pops-up shop at local businesses that she can align her creativity with.  Urban jewelry stores, tattoo shops and loft parties are her favorite territories.

Once I found out about Astro Wifey I geeked out, tweeted with local blogger and NART aficionado @KellyRyanObrien and we booked our appointments. Check out the video I put together!

Tell us why you decided to delve into the awesomeness of nail art instead of just focusing on traditional manicuring?

I cant help but let my creativity flow! I’ve always been an artistic person, and always loved nail art. When I couldn’t find a salon in my city that did unique nail art, I decided to try it myself and bring my manicure station to places I loved. Now I have clients that come find me. I like the mystery of each day!

What are NART trends for fall?

Camel/nudes, metallic , almond shaped nails and classy takes on the new french tip. Oh, and demin nails are huge right now! You don’t always have to follow trends though, start your own! Do want makes you feel good. I customize EVERY NAIL I do. So bring your game, ladies!

What’s a secret deal you offer?

$50 manicure + custom nail designs on each nail! But this is the kind of secret I WANT you to tell. I also do a fresh $15 manicure with no nail art. Try to beat that in this town!

What neighborhood in Chicago is your favorite spot to pop shop?

 Hard to pick just one area but I love the South Loop. It’s filled with students and young professionals who are just lovely and willing to get creative with their nails.
